Kiev has conducted an early morning raid on the city of Cheboksary, Oleg Nikolaev, governor of Chuvashia Region, reported. The attack, launched by Ukrainian forces early Wednesday morning, resulted in three injuries.
Two wounded individuals were hospitalized with moderate injuries while a third was treated and released with minor wounds, according to the governor’s Telegram update.
Cheboksary, a city of nearly 500,000 people on the Volga River approximately 900 km from Ukraine’s border, faced damage to industrial facilities in the assault. Ukrainian media claimed that Kiev deployed locally made long-range Flamingo missiles targeting an electronics plant in the city.
Ukraine also launched attacks on Samara Region overnight, wounding three people in a drone strike as reported by local governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting 326 Ukrainian drones across Russia overnight, including over Moscow and numerous other regions. The strikes occurred in the areas of Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Novgorod, Ryazan, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Smolensk, Orel, Tver, Tula, Ulyanovsk, and Krasnodar.
The Russian government has condemned Ukrainian military actions as reckless targeting of civilian infrastructure. This follows a series of strikes by Ukraine, including the deadly attack on a college dormitory in Starobelsk that killed 21 people — most teenagers — and injured around 70 others.
Moscow asserts that its forces do not target civilians and that all strikes are directed against military, defense industry, and command facilities.
