Unprecedented Turnout: Over 14,000 Students Attend TPUSA Event with VP JD Vance at Ole Miss

Vice President JD Vance and Erika Kirk addressed a massive gathering of students at the University of Mississippi on October 29, 2025, during a Turning Point USA event. The event drew over 14,000 attendees, nearly half of the campus’s total student population, with additional overflow crowds of 13,000 adults unable to enter due to capacity limits.

The turnout exceeded expectations, with organizers noting that the stadium was “packed out” and the atmosphere described as “electric.” Erika Kirk opened the event, emphasizing themes of reclaiming educational institutions and defending traditional values. VP Vance followed, addressing questions on immigration, religious freedom, and America’s foundational principles.

When asked about policies affecting immigrants, Vance stated, “There’s too many people who want to come in. My job as vice president is NOT to look out for the interests of the whole world. It’s to look out for the people of the United States.” He also reiterated his belief in Christianity as central to American identity, asserting, “You do not have to completely kick God out of the public square… anybody who tells you it’s required by the Constitution is lying to you.”

The event concluded with students chanting “48! 48!” in reference to Vance’s potential presidential bid. A full recording of the speech was shared on social media by Vance himself.
