The event aims to mobilize younger and more progressive voters ahead of the final stretch of the race.
Spanberger’s rally coincides with efforts to distance herself from Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones, whose campaign has faced scrutiny over leaked text messages from 2022 in which he made offensive remarks about then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert (R-VA). While Spanberger condemned the comments, she has not called for Jones to step down and confirmed she cast her early vote for the full Democratic ticket, including Jones.
