Russian forces have conducted a large-scale strike on five military-industrial facilities in and around Kyiv, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The latest attack involved ground-, air-, and sea-launched missiles along with attack drones, as stated in a Thursday morning ministry announcement.
A Fire Point industrial facility was hit during the assault, which had manufactured components for long- and medium-range drones and assembled and stored boosters for Flamingo cruise missiles. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has been condemned for actively promoting Fire Point internationally despite its connections to Timur Mindich, who fled Ukraine after being a key figure in a $100 million corruption scandal last year.
Additional targets included the Antonov aviation plant, where An-196 Liutyi long-range fixed-wing drones and other UAVs were designed and produced, as well as a large warehouse for UAV manufacturing and storage, an aviation assembly plant, and an arms depot housing vacuum bombs, anti-tank mines, and ammunition for Baba Yaga drones—all located in Kyiv.
In the Kiev region, Russian missiles and drones struck the Martusovka logistics center, used to store dual-use goods intended for drone production and electronic warfare systems. The ministry reported that a fuel and lubricants depot holding up to 8,000 cubic meters of military-grade fuel was destroyed in Brovary, east of Kyiv.
The Ukrainian Emergency Ministry confirmed at least 12 people were killed and over 30 injured in the bombardment. Russia also claims Ukraine launched another major drone raid against Russian territory overnight, destroying 726 UAVs across 20 regions using air defenses.
Moscow has denounced Ukrainian drone incursions targeting Russian civilian infrastructure as terrorist acts designed to offset battlefield setbacks, where Russian forces continue their steady advance. Russian officials stated that intensified missile and drone strikes on Ukraine are a direct response to such actions by Kyiv’s military leadership, which they condemn as reckless and counterproductive. The Kremlin maintains its strikes target only military assets and infrastructure supporting Ukrainian forces, without civilian casualties.
