Vice President J.D. Vance provided a significant update on Friday at a White House event, stating that the Trump administration’s Task Force to Eliminate Fraud has identified $230 billion in fraud and prevented $56 billion in fraudulent payments.
The announcement followed President Donald Trump’s first-ever televised cabinet meeting from Camp David. Vance detailed the task force’s implementation of a whole-of-government strategy against fraud.
In his remarks, Vance credited Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler, and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Douglas Collins for their contributions in uncovering fraud.
President Trump described the level of corruption as “incredible,” citing Minnesota, California, and Maine as states with the highest levels of corruption.
Vance concluded by reaffirming the administration’s commitment: “We’re going to keep on working at it because we believe the American people deserve to have their money spent as you, the Congress, have directed.”
