Office Depot Refuses to Print Tribute Posters for Charitable Cause, Sparks Outrage

A prayer vigil was held in Portage, Michigan, honoring Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old husband and father who died tragically. The Kalamazoo County Republican Party ordered tribute posters for the event through a local Office Depot store. However, the supervisor at the location denied the request, citing the posters as “political propaganda.” Organizers traveled to the store to confront the staff, leading to further controversy.

The Kalamazoo GOP placed an order for Charlie Kirk posters on the afternoon of the vigil. By 5:30 PM, the print supervisor informed them the request was being rejected. The store’s location at 6272 S Westnedge Ave, Portage, MI 49002, declined to fulfill the order. Organizers then turned to FedEx, which agreed to print the posters for free.

Office Depot later issued a statement addressing the incident, calling the employee’s behavior “unacceptable and insensitive.” The company confirmed the associate involved was no longer employed and pledged to review training protocols. Meanwhile, the Kalamazoo GOP criticized Office Depot’s decision, questioning how a tribute for a grieving family could be labeled as propaganda.

The incident has drawn widespread attention on social media, with critics highlighting FedEx’s willingness to assist versus Office Depot’s refusal.
