An arrest warrant has been issued for actor Tyrese Gibson following allegations that his dogs killed another dog in his Atlanta neighborhood. Fulton County Police Captain Nicole Dwyer stated the warrant for cruelty to animals stems from an “ongoing issue” after multiple complaints about the dogs. Court documents reveal Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs were seen roaming the area and are accused of killing a neighbor’s cavalier King Charles spaniel named “Henry.”
Henry’s owner reported letting the dog out at 10:02 p.m. to use the bathroom and found him dead in his driveway five minutes later. The dog suffered blood on the left side of his rib cage, broken ribs on the right, puncture marks on his stomach, and severe internal bleeding, according to a report. Security footage showed four Cane Corsos running toward Henry’s home.
At 11:30 p.m., another neighbor called animal control after the dogs approached her house, preventing her from reaching her vehicle. Officers arrived at 12:17 a.m., found all four dogs in the front yard, and escorted the caller to her car. Dwyer expressed concern about the safety of the community, stating, “What’s next? A child?” She emphasized the need to detain the dogs.
Gibson had previously received warnings from police, who attempted to cite him before the incident but found him absent from his Atlanta home. Dwyer said she contacted Gibson’s lawyer last week, demanding he surrender by Friday. Gibson’s attorney, Gabe Banks, stated the actor is “cooperating fully” and rehomed the dogs to a “safe and loving environment.”
A separate incident on September 18 involved a neighbor’s small spaniel being attacked five minutes after being let out. The dog was taken to a vet but did not survive. Police later issued a search warrant for Gibson’s property on September 22, but he and the dogs were not present.
