FBI Spied on GOP Senators Under Biden: Grassley Condemns “Worse Than Watergate” Surveillance

Senator Chuck Grassley has confirmed that the FBI under President Joe Biden engaged in surveillance targeting Republican lawmakers, labeling the actions as “WORSE THAN WATERGATE.” Newly disclosed documents obtained through an FBI whistleblower reveal that the bureau accessed the phone records of nine Republican members of Congress, including eight sitting senators, during the “Arctic Frost” investigation into 2020 election interference.

The documents, which were recently provided to lawmakers, show that the FBI conducted preliminary toll analysis on limited records under the investigation. Grassley emphasized the severity of the actions, stating they constituted an unconstitutional breach of privacy and called for accountability from Attorney General Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel.

Senator Ron Johnson highlighted the urgency of further whistleblower disclosures, noting that while figures like Kash Patel and Dan Bongino have exposed some information, more revelations are needed to fully understand the scope of the investigations. Both senators stressed that the targeted lawmakers were unaware of why they were under surveillance.

Liz Churchill has called the actions “TREASON,” a characterization echoed by critics. The document detailing the surveillance, labeled “ARCTIC FROST—Election Law Matters—SENSITIVE INVESTIGATIVE MATTER—CAST,” was publicly released by Grassley on Monday. Senators expressed shock at being targeted without explanation, with Johnson noting that the FBI’s actions reflected a systemic abuse of power.
