Ford has issued a recall affecting more than 855,000 vehicles nationwide due to two separate safety concerns involving dashboard malfunctions and brake fluid leaks. The automaker confirmed the recalls after reports of critical system failures that could compromise driver awareness and vehicle control.
The first recall targets certain 2025 F-150 models and 2025-2026 Super Duty trucks, including F-550, F-450, F-350, and F-250 variants. A defect in the instrument panel cluster may cause a blank screen during startup, preventing drivers from accessing essential safety information and gauges. Over 95 warranty claims were reported by June 26, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warning that the issue could increase crash risk. Ford will provide free software updates to resolve the problem, either through dealership visits or over-the-air downloads.
A separate recall involves nearly 500,000 vehicles due to a brake fluid leak. The rear brake hose may rupture, extending stopping distance and raising collision risks. Affected models include 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX and 2015-2018 Edge SUVs.
This follows multiple recent recalls by Ford, including over 694,000 Bronco Sport and Escape vehicles for fuel injector issues and more than 850,000 cars for potential fuel pump failures. The company’s Chief Operating Officer cited heightened safety testing as part of its strategy to address defects proactively.
