Greta Thunberg’s Gaza Mission Boat Attacked by Drone in Tunisian Waters

A vessel associated with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was reported to have been struck by a drone attack in Tunisian waters, according to the Global Sumud Flotilla. The Portuguese-flagged ship, linked to the Madleen boat that previously carried Thunberg, suffered damage to its deck and storage areas after the incident. No injuries were reported among those aboard the vessel.

Footage shared online captured the aftermath of the attack, with activists describing a drone releasing a bomb that caused fires on the boat. The Global Sumud Flotilla confirmed the strike, stating that all passengers and crew remained unharmed. The organization emphasized its commitment to continuing the mission to break Gaza’s blockade, calling the attack an attempt to intimidate the convoy.

Thunberg, who has repeatedly advocated for Palestinian causes, was not on the vessel during the incident. She later addressed the event on social media, stating that the boat was part of a humanitarian effort to deliver aid to Gaza. Activists involved in the mission warned that such attacks aim to obstruct their efforts and silence support for Palestine.

The Israeli government has previously labeled members of the flotilla as “terrorists” and threatened legal action against those attempting to breach its naval blockade. No official party has claimed responsibility for the drone strike, but the incident has intensified scrutiny of the ongoing tensions surrounding Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.
