Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) declared President Donald Trump “suffering from dementia” during a CNN interview Tuesday, following the president’s recent remarks labeling socialism as a greater threat to America than both world wars, Pearl Harbor and September 11, 2001.
When asked about Trump’s comments, Pritzker stated: “The man is continually suffering from dementia. I don’t think he really understands what he’s saying.” The governor cited the president’s history of threatening federal officials—including Chicago’s mayor and Illinois’ governor—and using the Department of Justice to target individuals as evidence of impaired judgment.
Pritzker added that Trump “comes up with concepts in his head, and he blurts them out without really thinking.”
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle condemned Pritzker’s remarks, labeling him “a slob and an incompetent governor who pushes blatantly false narratives like this in a desperate attempt to stay relevant.” The administration defended Trump’s health, asserting that unlike the Biden White House, the president’s team has maintained full transparency about his condition, which remains “exceptional.”
