New security footage from a gas station in Cedar City, Utah, shows Tyler Robertson, the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk, pumping gas shortly after the conservative influencer was killed. The video, obtained by authorities, captures Robertson at a Maverik station approximately 215 miles from Utah Valley University, where Kirk was shot during a Turning Point USA event.
Local police were alerted to the location after state officials suggested Robertson might have discarded evidence there. However, surveillance footage confirmed he did not interact with any trash cans during his visit. The recording shows Robertson arriving at 7:15 a.m. on September 11, paying for gas with a credit card, and departing within three minutes without approaching waste bins.
Investigators had previously believed Robertson changed clothing before the shooting, but his family identified him in campus photos, leading to his arrest later that day. Authorities tracked his financial activity post-arrest to obtain the gas station footage, which did not reveal any evidence disposal. Robertson, who lived in Washington, Utah, was 22 years old at the time.
