Pet Health Breakthrough: FDA Approvals for Dog Therapies and Stem Cell Patches

Biotechnology company Loyal has reported progress on two therapeutic treatments for dogs, LOY 001 (injectable) and LOY 002 (daily pill), designed specifically to extend the healthy lifespan of medium and large breed dogs. Earlier this year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine confirmed that both treatments meet the standard for demonstrating a reasonable expectation of effectiveness.

The developments come as pet owners increasingly seek solutions for aging companions who experience mobility challenges, chronic pain, and declining health due to age-related conditions such as arthritis and organ deterioration.

Additionally, phototherapy patches from Lifewave have been noted in veterinary circles. The company’s primary product for pets is AcuLife, with an alternative option called X39. These patches are claimed to stimulate the pet’s own stem cells, potentially aiding in tissue repair and recovery from age-related damage.
