Shapiro Accuses Harris Memoir Claims As “Utter Bullshit” And Lacks Tolerance

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro launched a direct attack on Vice President Kamala Harris, calling claims in her memoir “blatant lies,” “complete and utter bullshit,” and criticizing the book’s attempt to shape its narrative by “covering her ass.”

During an interview with The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta, Shapiro expressed strong disagreement with narratives detailed in Harris’s book “107 Days.” When asked about his description of being handled in the publication, he stated: “That’s complete and utter bullshit… I can tell you that accounts are just blatant lies.”

Shapiro acknowledged discussing a potential running mate early in the process but denied the specific accusations from Harris’s account. He suggested it was reasonable to ask questions during such discussions.

Harris ultimately selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate for the 2024 election, though the vice president revealed that Walz wasn’t her first choice and had passed on Pete Buttigieg due to concerns about risk.

Separately, Shapiro commented on Harris’s decision regarding Vice President Dick Cheney’s successor after Trump’s re-election win in Pennsylvania. He criticized the Democratic Party for losing ground under its leadership, suggesting failures in community outreach and respect shown towards voters contributed to the outcome.
