Spencer Pratt Vows to Ignore National Politics in Los Angeles Mayoral Race

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has stated he is not seeking endorsements from high-profile figures—including President Donald Trump.

The former MTV reality star emphasized his campaign focuses exclusively on local issues in Los Angeles, where he aims to unseat incumbent Mayor Karen Bass. “My race is a local race. I don’t care what’s going on in the national politics, in other states,” Pratt told reporters recently.

Pratt criticized efforts to frame his candidacy through a national political lens. “This conversation is what’s destroyed local elections,” he said. “People don’t care. In L.A., they want to feel safe.”

President Trump recently labeled Pratt a “big MAGA person” and expressed support for the candidate ahead of the June 2 primary.

Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass has sought to leverage Los Angeles’ anti-Trump sentiment in her campaign, describing Pratt as a “failed reality TV star” who lacks qualifications for office.
