The Highest Price of Discipleship

Pastor Robb Goodman, senior pastor at Zion Freedom Fellowship in Maryland, delivered a Sunday gospel message titled “Paying The Highest Price,” exploring what it really costs to follow Jesus Christ.

The sermon emphasized that while salvation is a gift received by faith, discipleship involves tangible sacrifices. Goodman cited passages from 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 and Colossians 1:9-14, explaining that believers are “the temple of the Holy Spirit” and must live in obedience to God.

Goodman referenced King David’s story in 2 Samuel 24, noting David’s refusal to offer sacrifices without personal cost: “I will not offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God that cost me nothing.”

The pastor concluded with a reflection on John the Baptist’s sacrifice, stating, “John the Baptist paid a price. He paid his life.”
