A shooting occurred early Sunday morning at a residential hall on Oklahoma State University (OSU) campus, leaving three individuals hospitalized, according to OSU Police Chief Michael Beckner.
Officers responded around 3:40 a.m. to reports of a shooting at Carreker East residential hall, as stated by the OSU Police Department. Beckner confirmed multiple victims, including at least one OSU student, with all patients treated at hospitals in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. No updates on their conditions were immediately provided.
Beckner described how campus police first learned of the incident through a radio call about a gunshot victim at a McDonald’s several miles from the college. Officers arrived at the location, administered medical aid to the injured, and later received reports of a shooting near the residential halls. Upon reaching the scene, officers encountered individuals fleeing in vehicles and stopped several at gunpoint. No victims were found at the location when they arrived.
Later, officials learned that a person shot at the school had been taken to Stillwater Medical Center, while another victim arrived at Tulsa Medical Center. Beckner stated all three victims were in stable condition by Sunday afternoon.
Authorities emphasized there was no ongoing threat to the campus and urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact OSU Police Department.
