Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is proceeding with its first university campus event since the assassination of founder Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University last week, with the gathering set to take place at the University of Minnesota. The event will feature Michael Knowles, a host for the Daily Wire, as the keynote speaker.
TPUSA announced the amended schedule following Kirk’s death, revealing that Knowles will replace him in the lineup. The first event, originally planned to debut Monday, will now occur tonight, with Knowles pledging to honor Kirk during his address. “There will be an empty chair on stage,” Knowles stated during an appearance on “Fox & Friends First.” “I will give a tribute to Charlie and then we will open up the floor to an open conversation.”
Additional events are set for later this month, including a September 30 visit to Utah State University. Speakers for future engagements will include Alex Clark, Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and former Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT). Other scheduled speakers across the country include Vivek Ramaswamy, Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA), Megyn Kelly, and Tucker Carlson.
The organization’s continued campus outreach has drawn attention amid ongoing debates over its role in political activism.
