Transgender BMX Rider Celebrates Assassination of Conservative Figure, Sparks Outrage

A transgender Team USA BMX cyclist has faced backlash after posting social media content celebrating the assassination of a conservative figure. Chelsea Wolfe, who was part of the U.S. women’s BMX team at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 as an alternate, shared posts expressing approval of the killing.

Wolfe’s Instagram stories included a USA Today article reporting on the death, overlaid with an animated caption reading “We did it!” alongside the children’s character Dora the Explorer. Another post featured a black screen with the text “the ‘find out’ era looks good on him,” while another showed her giving a thumbs up with a comment suggesting the victim’s actions led to their demise.

Wolfe had previously expressed controversial views, including plans to burn the American flag at the Olympics in 2020, citing opposition to policies affecting trans youth. She was named as an alternate for Team USA’s BMX freestyle event, though her participation depends on other athletes’ availability.
