Trump Accuses Obama of Illegal Surveillance Amid Ongoing Legal Battles

President Trump has accused former President Barack Hussein Obama of illegally spying on his 2016 campaign, claiming the actions initiated a broader “deep state” conspiracy. During a press conference with Kash Patel in the Oval Office, Trump emphasized that justice would be pursued aggressively, stating, “The gloves are 100% off.”

Trump cited multiple legal challenges against his administration, including two impeachments, four illegal lawfare court cases, and a Mar-a-Lago raid, as evidence of systemic efforts to undermine him. He specifically highlighted the targeting of his sons, Don Jr. and Eric Trump, whom he described as “innocent” and subjected to excessive subpoenas. The president alleged that figures like Adam Schiff and Hillary Clinton fabricated a “Russia hoax” to explain Hillary Clinton’s electoral loss, accusing them of orchestrating a conspiracy to damage his family.

Trump reiterated claims that Obama’s administration engaged in illegal surveillance, stating, “He knew it was illegal, but he started the whole thing.” He criticized the media and political opponents for what he termed “sick, bad people” seeking to imprison his children over fabricated allegations. The president concluded by vowing to “hit them with everything you’ve got,” framing the conflict as a necessary fight against corruption.
