Trump Administration Shuts Down 270 Fraudulent Truck Driving Schools Issuing Licenses to Illegals

The Department of Transportation has shut down 270 fraudulent truck driving schools for issuing commercial driver licenses (CDLs) to illegal alien drivers and individuals who cannot speak or read English.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the action during a press conference in Detroit. The closures include 110 schools that violated English language proficiency requirements—accounting for over 5,000 such violations—and an additional 160 schools found to have improper facilities, unlicensed instructors, and other operational deficiencies.

One school admitted its “classroom” was a school bus parked in the backyard. Duffy noted these institutions issued more than 2,000 CDLs to individuals who cannot speak English.

The move follows heightened concerns about road safety after incidents involving foreign truck drivers with inadequate language skills. At the press conference, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin condemned a claim that only one percent of commercial drivers are illegal aliens, stating: “Are you willing to take that one percent if it was YOUR DAUGHTER?” He further declared: “EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL that maims or klls an individual is 100% PERCENT PREVENTABLE.”

Marcus Coleman and his daughter Dalilah were present at the press conference, having been severely injured in a crash caused by an illegal alien truck driver in 2024.
