President Trump responded to news of former Prince Andrew’s arrest over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein by calling it “a shame” and “so bad for the royal family” during a recent appearance aboard Air Force One.
Trump also claimed he has been “totally exonerated” by newly released documents that allegedly reveal Jeffrey Epstein conspiring against his presidency.
A clip resurfaced showing Trump previously exposing Prince Andrew’s relationship with Epstein years ago, with the former president noting he had called out the prince before Democrats or anyone else in government cared about Epstein at all.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of his royal titles and now bears this name, has been arrested by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Authorities are investigating whether he shared confidential or sensitive government information with Epstein while serving as the United Kingdom’s special representative for international trade until 2011.
Mountbatten-Windsor was released without charge after being questioned at his Norfolk residence and has denied any wrongdoing.
King Charles is scheduled to visit the U.S. in April.
