US President Donald Trump revealed he had made a decision regarding the potential delivery of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, though he declined to specify the details. “I’ve sort of made a decision on that. I would have to ask the question where are they sending them,” he stated during an Oval Office press briefing on Monday.
Trump emphasized his reluctance to provoke further escalation, saying, “I’m not looking to see escalation.” This comes after US Vice President J.D. Vance indicated the White House was evaluating the possibility of supplying the missiles, which cost approximately $1.3 million each and can travel 2,500km (1,550 miles). Such a move could enable strikes on Moscow and beyond.
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that such a decision would severely damage US-Russia relations and argued Ukraine’s military would require direct American support to operate the advanced weaponry.
