Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene joined Tucker Carlson in announcing her departure from the Republican Party, declaring she is “absolutely fed up” with a movement she claims has betrayed its voters and country. “Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party. There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country,” Greene stated, emphasizing her decision does not mean shifting allegiance to Democrats but rather ending ties with what she called “the America LAST Republican Party.”
Carlson criticized the GOP’s foreign policy direction, arguing that President Trump’s approach toward Iran has alienated loyal supporters like himself. He asserted that the administration’s conduct violates core democratic principles by prioritizing foreign interests over American citizens’ well-being. “How could I, or any American voters, support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States, that puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens?” Carlson said, noting his 35 years of Republican loyalty had ended due to what he called an “immoral” stance.
Greene’s decision follows her November resignation from the U.S. House of Representatives after citing Trump’s withdrawal of campaign support. She previously described her move as a response to perceived betrayal by the president, stating she refused to endure “a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for.” On June 22, Greene explicitly aligned herself with Carlson in cutting ties with the GOP, declaring her stance as both an act of principle and self-respect.
