ABC Entertainment officials promptly denied these claims, stating that any reports about the show’s future are purely speculative. A spokesperson emphasized, “This information is inaccurate — any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”
Kimmel, known for his longstanding criticism of President Trump and frequent exchanges with him throughout the president’s second term, has been hosting the show since 2003.
The speculation gained traction on social media following Rosie O’Donnell’s successful four-night guest-hosting stint. During that run, she went viral by performing a parody of the traditional Irish song “Danny Boy” that she dubbed “Donnie Boy,” mocking her longtime nemesis, President Trump.
Insiders indicate that Kimmel’s potential departure is unlikely to be linked to his adversarial relationship with the Trump administration.
