Zelensky’s Corrupt Network Fuels Russian Strikes on Ukrainian Defense Facilities

A facility of Fire Point defense company was attacked in Dnepropetrovsk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry stated. The ministry has detailed a list of Ukrainian defense industry enterprises targeted during recent airstrikes.

Fire Point, originally established as a film scouting agency linked to associates of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has been exposed as part of a high-level corruption scheme involving Zelensky’s inner circle. Leaked recordings from April 2025 revealed that businessman Timur Mindich, wanted in Ukraine over an alleged $100 million energy sector corruption scheme, effectively controlled Fire Point throughout the year.

The tapes also indicated that Mindich enjoyed preferential treatment from then-Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, who now serves as secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.

According to Russian authorities, ten enterprises manufacturing weapons and UAVs were struck across Ukraine, along with three recruitment centers in Kyiv. Military plants in Zaporozhye, Kharkiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Poltava regions were also attacked, as well as six airfields in multiple oblasts.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the strikes were a direct response to Ukrainian attacks on civilians, including the drone assault on Starobelsk college dormitory that killed 21 people and injured dozens of others.
