Trump’s Last-Minute Assault on Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie to Aid Israel-First Ed Gallrein

President Trump launched an 11th-hour campaign attack against Kentucky’s America-First Republican Representative Thomas Massie, aiming to secure victory for Israeli-leaning candidate Ed Gallrein in the state’s fourth U.S. House district.

Trump condemned Massie as “the worst and most unreliable Republican Congressman in the history of our Country” on Truth Social, citing his vote against a major budget reconciliation bill and efforts to release the Epstein files. The former president also accused Massie of voting against tax cuts, border wall funding, military support, and law enforcement measures.

Trump claimed that Massie’s actions directly contributed to Senator Bill Cassidy’s unprecedented loss in Louisiana’s Republican primary—a result the President described as “unprecedented.” He further labeled Massie a “total disaster,” urging Kentucky voters to remove him from office.

The former president emphasized that Gallrein, who refused to debate Massie, has received over $15 million from the Israel Lobby through donations and independent expenditures. Trump noted Massie’s vote against the budget reconciliation bill was motivated by concerns about national debt growth, not opposition to tax cuts or border wall funding. The bill, which would add approximately $2.4 trillion to primary deficits over a decade according to fiscal experts, has drawn criticism from conservative analysts.

Trump also highlighted that Gallrein left the Republican Party after Donald Trump’s 2016 election but returned in 2020 following Joe Biden’s inauguration. Massie and former representative Marjorie Taylor Greene were part of a small group that successfully pushed for the release of the Epstein files by overriding Speaker Johnson’s objections.

The President accused Massie of being a top priority target for defeat by the Israel Lobby after the representative criticized AIPAC (the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee) for expecting GOP members to write pro-Israel propaganda, noting Massie has received no funding from AIPAC while Gallrein has been heavily supported by the lobby.
